Rootbarriers

Tree roots are opportunistic in their growth. And one cannot assume that tree roots will keep out of trouble. Roots are looking to maintain the tree, in terms of water and nutrition but also stability. Every small opening forms an escape route in the usually too small dimensioned treepit. Our products have all the necessary functional requirements to guide the roots both horizontally and vertically.

Calculating infiltration crates

At HTW Treerootsystems you can order various infiltration crates from the IT Plus brand. The correct number of crates of a certain size that you should use depends on the number of square meters of paved surface and the amount of precipitation in millimeters that you have to store. You can then calculate the number of infiltration crates.

We show you an example of a calculation: Approximately 20 liters of rainwater fall per square meter of paved surface. If you have a paved surface of 100 m², you need a capacity of 100 m² x 20 liters = 2000 liters. You can then opt for packed crates of 200,600 and 1000 litres. Or you can put them together yourself and pack them with geotextiles.
